Laraine was a loyal and long time friend... We hung out together, went on vacations together and bowled in leagues together.... We had so many laughs and fun times with her and Bill(our forever friend).... I can hear them arguing now!!!!! Chuck and Anna Bowell, Gloucester CIty

LARAINE FLYNN
I will always remember Laraine as the greatest athlete I have ever known. She could look at a back flip and then do one on the first try.
In Basketball, she held the highest high school scoring average for at least a decade. Her free-throw average was 88%.
In Field Hockey, she invented the reverse stick flick. She was so fast that at hockey camp in the Poconos, Constance Applebee, the founder of field hockey in the Philadelphia area, had to tell her to slow down and stay in line. She qualified for the US Women's Field Hockey Team at an early age but was unable to attend the trip to South Africa.
In Softball, she surprised the greatest pitcher of all time, Joanie Joyce, by hitting a single to first, followed by stealing 2nd base on the next pitch, and then stealing 3rd base.
Laraine was a once in a lifetime friend, and a once in a lifetime athlete. She was recognized by all women athletes and coaches in the South Jersey area for her exceptional talents and friendly smile. I will miss her, but I will never forget her.
Joyce Countiss,
Class of 61, Gloucester City High School
