News Death Notice
THOMAS, Loreba "Rita" (Sturgill) Wright age 87 of Scottsdale, AZ, formerly of Dayton, OH, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012. Rita was born August 9, 1924 in Catlettsburg, KY, daughter of the late Jay and Tennessee (Rakes) Sturgill. She was a member of the First Grace Brethren Church. Rita had a love of flowers and gardening. Mrs. Thomas is survived by her son, Danny (Christine) Wright; daughter, Marjorie Miles; step-son, Bobby (Gail) Thomas; step-daughter, Mary (Marvin) Gabbard; 4 grandchildren, Lorrie Best (Tim) Kirby, Debbie Miles (Tom) Fain, Robyn (John) Williamson and Danny James (Charity) Wright, II; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by 2 husbands, James G. Wright and Robert L. Thomas; son-in-law, William "Bill" M. P. Miles, Jr.; 1 granddaughter, Sandra M. Miles and 3 brothers. The family will receive visitors 3-5 PM Friday, August 17, 2012 at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home & Crematory, 5555 Philadelphia Dr. at N. Main St., Dayton, OH 45415. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Hospice of the Valley Eckstein Center, 9494 East Becker Lane, Scottsdale, AZ 85260.
