We in lived in Villa Park, across the street from the Winike family from 1965-1978. I remember playing with the kids on their swing set and with their tetherball. I think they had a pool, but my parents wouldn´t let us swim in it, as they feared us drowning. I appreciated that there were so many Winikes to play with! They were a great family to be neighbors with. I only remember Lori as the youngest, so we older kids played separately from the youngest couple of kids. My deepest sympathies to you all on the los of your sister. Prayers to you.

Lori was also on the HOA board of directors with me and we would always discuss things that needed to happen in our neighborhood. I also have fond memories of her walking her dogs Cree and then Dexter.

When she first moved in with Phyllis next door I remember them both coming over to say hello to us.

My children loved my Aunt Lori so very much. Abby told me she loved the hugs that Lori would give her especially when she swung her around. Kingston loved that Aunt Lori was always there to greet him at the door when he would visit. She would say "Where's my boy?" They miss her so much and ask about her often. She has left a big hole in our lives.

I have so many special memories of my aunt Lori. It´s hard to narrow them down. When I was very young, it was visits from Illinois when she came with Grandma Corinne and Grandpa Frank. Lori and I would argue over who my dad loved more... I´d say, "That´s MY daddy... my daddyyyy...". Lori would say, "That´s MY Bobby... my Bobbyyyy..."
As an adult, I would come to Illinois with Holly to help care for Grandma for short periods of time. It was Grandma, Auntie Phyll, Holly, Lori and me. Me and the Aunties. We had SO many laughs together those trips. We talked about what we were going to eat for dinner starting first thing in the morning. It was so fun to listen to Grandma bicker with Auntie Phyll and we couldn´t take sides!
I was so happy when Lori moved to Portland and we could spend more time together, on a regular basis. She was here to see our kids born and growing. She called Mia "Little Poppy" before she was even born. We often went to restaurants as a family, or went to local plays.
However, my favorite memories with Lori happened when Robin and I spent the summer in Villa Park, IL, when I was 10 years old. We stayed at Grandma´s house and spent the entire summer with them. Lori was our primary caregiver that summer. We went swimming, took a historical road trip to Springfield, and she helped me work on Girl Scout badges. Lori introduced me to All My Children that summer. She and Grandma took us school clothes shopping. If I asked for something and she didn´t agree, she would just sing, "Dreeeeammm.... Dream dream dream...." ala the Everly Brothers. The funniest memory (well, now it´s funny) was the night I found an earwig in my bed!!! I refused to sleep in that bed until Lori stripped the entire bed of all of its bedding to make sure there were no more earwigs!
I´m devastated to have lost my aunt Lori at such a young age. However, I know she´s happy to be with her Tim, pup Cree, her mama and Bobby, among many other loved ones. Our loss is heaven´s gain.

Lori, Tim and their pup Cree have been reunited, now dancing with Jesus. Truly didn't expect our time with Lori to be taken from us so suddenly and so soon.
Loir's quick witted one liner come backs were one of my favorite things about her, taking no crap from anyone, dishing it right back, in all good fun and laughter of course. Lori loved her Chicago Cubs and Da Bears, watching sports wasn't everyone´s thing but it was one of her favorite things.
Lori loved her family, she was an awesome aunt and she loved so much being a great-aunt to the many of kiddos in the family. I am forever grateful to her for the all time she spent helping my mother in-law, her sister Holly, during her latest cancer battle.
We love you and miss you.

I want to share a special memory of my Aunt Lori, who recently passed away. Growing up, my family and I were incredibly fortunate to travel to many amazing places, and Aunt Lori was always by our side. Her presence made each trip even more memorable.
One of my favorite things about her was how she embraced every adventure with her signature sass and stubbornness. She fit right in with our travels, especially during our trips to Italy and New York.
I still remember how Aunt Lori would help me barter with street vendors. As a child, I often lacked the confidence to negotiate, but Lori´s enthusiastic support made all the difference. She´d speak on my behalf, ensuring that I got a fair price for the trinkets I wanted.
Family was everything to Aunt Lori. She cherished the time spent with my parents and me, and her presence always made our vacations more enjoyable. Her love for us and her zest for life enriched every journey we took together.
Lori was not what I would call a rule follower and I distinctly remember a time when we were in Alaska and Lori climbed under a "no crossing" sign to climb a iceberg! She made sure every moment was lived to the fullest when we were on an adventure.
Though she's no longer with us, the memories of her adventurous spirit and the joy she brought to our travels will forever remain in my heart.

So many memories. Our summers together. All the day trips Grandpa would bring us on. Like the zoo. All 13 of us piled into the station wagon. Lori was always the one to make us laugh. Her wit and sense of humor will be missed. More recent memories are of my visits to her home in Romeoville, where she took such loving care of her mom and also my mom. Lori made it possible for Auntie Corrine and my Mom to be together in their later days. Lori was a care giver for sure. And then my most recent memory is that for the past 5 or 6 years, every single day, we played a word game together. Lori probably won 90% of the time !! I will miss her.

Holly, Phyllis, & Family,
We are so sorry to hear that your precious Lori has passed away. As her Cedar City neighbors we were blessed to have both Lori, Tim, & Cree in our neighborhood. They were always friendly & ready to give us a helping hand when we needed it. May God continue to comfort you as you struggle through this sad season of losing your Lori. We mourn with you.
God bless you all!
With much love,
Ida & Randy

I will always remember the great times Rob and I had visiting Lori in Cedar City.
We enjoyed the Shakespeare Festival, hiking and most of all just walking around the neighborhood with Lori and Cree. Thank you Phyllis and Holly for sharing your sweet little sister with me.
Love you all so much.
Love and prayers, Judy
