Louis "Bud or Buddy" Holbrook, 71 of Marshfield went to the Lord on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was receiving care from Ministry Home Hospice.

Memorial services will be 11:00 am Monday, June 2, 2014 at Center City Church in Marshfield with an hour visitation prior to the service. Pastor Patrick Bousum will officiate.

Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

He was born on August 5, 1942 in Wausau to Willis and Lucille (Kiekhafer) Holbrook. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Baudino on October 5, 1963 in Milwaukee.

He attended schools in Wausau and then graduated from Custer High School in Milwaukee. After High School he learned to fly and got his commercial pilot license. He joined his father in his excavating and trucking business. In October 1963 he married is High School sweetheart Kathleen Baudino and they moved to Sturgeon Bay with a Government contract to line the canal with rock. When that was completed he bought a diary product business in Markesan, WI which he operated for 5 years before coming to Central Wisconsin. Once in Central Wisconsin he started trucking, mainly hauling modular and mobile homes.

He was a gentle, kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He had a passion for helping people. He loved his family, horses, music and people but above all the Lord Jesus Christ which had a personal relationship with. He played steel guitar with the Kings Trio and Crosswinds Gospel Music Group.

He served on church boards and loved helping people. He will be missed by his wife of 50 years

Bud is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathleen (Baudino) Holbrook, two sons Curt (fiancée Cheryl Crawford) Holbrook of Goodrich, MI and Jay (Sarah) Holbrook of Marshfield; three grandchildren Kaitlin, Nicole and Joseph and his mother Lucille Holbrook of Stevens Point. He is further survived by a brother Gary (Sandy) Holbrook of Sturgeon Bay as well as other nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by father, and a sister Karen Ruenger.

Proverbs 16:20 says He gives attention to the word and finds good, he is blessed because he trusts in the Lord.
