Marilyn McCauley Lambert

Marilyn McCauley Lambert passed peacefully on Oct. 2.

Marilyn was born Feb. 17, 1931, in Hartford, growing up in East Hartford. She was the daughter of Madeline McCauley Rowe and Samuel McCauley and her devoted stepfather Charles Rowe. Marilyn graduated from East Hartford High School in 1948. After graduation, she worked at Travelers Insurance Co. Marrying in 1951 to Floyd Lambert and lived in East Hartford. In 1963 they moved to South Windsor. She was very active in her children's school events and was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. In 1973, she returned to working at Travelers Insurance, retiring in 1985. Marilyn enjoyed many cruise vacations with Floyd and their close friends. Enjoying family vacations to Aruba, Jamaica with her children and a girls' trip to Bermuda. She was an avid fan of UConn woman's basketball. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia L. Canali and her husband, Joseph of Ellington, her son Scott and wife, Lori, and ex daughter-in-law Paula Lambert; her grandchildren, Kristina Spineti and husband, Guy of Colchester, Michael Lambert and wife, Lisa of Monroe, Michelle Fazzino and her husband, Sal of South Windsor, David Lambert and wife, Lauren of Ellington, her great-grandchildren, Joseph and Dominic Spineti, Tessa, Everly, Ava, Cora and Floyd Lambert, and Nico and Mia Fazzino. Her sister Phyllis Reed of Glastonbury; her nieces Robyn Reed and partner, Ford Cavallari of Boston, Linda Bialkowski and husband, Jay of Glastonbury and her great niece Sarah Bialkowski of Glastonbury.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 16, at 2 p.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. Burial will follow at Wapping Cemetery in South Windsor. Her family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
