Martha Marie Dundon

Martha Marie Dundon was born in Columbia, Missouri on January 25, 1948, and peacefully passed away in her daughter's home in San Antonio, Texas, on June 15, 2024.

Ms. Dundon married the love of her life, Lt Col Charles Fredric Zulfer. They had three beautiful, smart and witty children. Although the two were later divorced, they remained great friends for life.

As a single woman taking care of three children on her own, Martha worked several jobs all while working through nursing school. While pursuing her dreams were an ongoing challenge, Martha refused to give up on her goals. She persisted and ultimately obtained her Registered Nursing degree from University of Missouri. Martha then worked as a distinguished RN for several years.

Although Martha suffered a tragic car accident in 1993, which prevented her from furthering her career as an RN, she never gave up on LIFE. Martha was always optimistic, despite the unfortunate challenges life had thrown her way. Martha never quit and she was ALWAYS there for her children, as they were her number one.

Martha was one of the best cooks and bakers you could ever meet. She had an eclectic taste in jewelry, fashion, and music amongst other things. She loved travelling and her favorite place to travel to was the beach or to one of the many places to watch her grandson race BMX and spend time with her family.

Martha was passionate about many things such as her love for animals and various non-profit charities, but the thing she was most passionate about was her faith. Martha never let anything stand in her way of her faith, up until the day she passed away. Martha spent a large majority of her life dedicated as a Jehovah's Witness.

Martha will be remembered in many, many ways - she was so kind, loving, funny, smart, faithful, caring, sarcastic, and absolutely beautiful in every way...just to name a few.

Martha was preceded in death by her loving parents, H. Dwyer Dundon and Gloria Dundon. She is survived by her loving children, Michael Charles Zulfer, Charles Perry Zulfer, and Danielle Marie Zulfer. She is also survived by her two grandchildren she loved so dearly, Dwyer Vincent Zulfer and Ramona Ginger Zulfer. Additionally, she is survived by her loving siblings, Michael Dwyer Dundon, Kathryn Helen Dundon and Sheila Ann Dundon. Services will be held privately with the family and close friends at a later date.
