I didn't have the option of buying ya a beer, so I had to light a candle....your light will forever shine

I hung out with her only a few times with my husband, Richie Sadler. Although i didn't really "know" her, i loved her right off the bat - her outlook on life was so upbeat and she had such a great sense of humor. She joked about being the "designated driver" and i just thought, oh that's cool, she's offering to be the DD. It wasn't until later in the evening when my husband told me she was joking around (due to her vision issues, driving was not an option) that i realized how cool she truly was. She didn't take herself too seriously, but she was such a giver, Mary Grace was simple JOY personified.
Janet, Sean, Paul, and family and all the many, many close friends Mary Grace had...I am so very sorry for your loss. I was blessed to meet Mary Grace and blessed to have heard such fun, wonderful and sometimes crazy stories about her in Richie's high school days. She truly left an amazing mark on this world.

Also, I have NEVER seen a funeral home with such an amazingly long line of people waiting to pay their respects. The line wrapped around the building! I wasn't able to attend, but i drove past the funeral home and almost had to stop the car to cry...but not out of sadness, but by seeing how loved Mary Grace truly was. Janet, thank you for bringing her into the world. I can't imagine the heartbreak you feel...but thank you for allowing all of to share in the joy that your daughter created during her far-to-short time on this earth.

I only knew Mary Grace through my sister Lynn Knecht and niece Maureen Newcamp. And I thought how courageous she was for all that she did in life not allowing her disability to hold her back. She touched everyone's life in that way and she is truly in God's arms now and surrounded by angels. Many many years ago Jason and I went to Pittsburgh to watch our first Steelers home game. Mary Grace made it so we never wanted to leave. From that day on we had the strongest bond. She touched my life. She spoiled my kids. She loved my husband and she was ALWAYS there for all of us. She helped keep me sane, she made me laugh, she inspired me. She lived life to the fullest! MG was my girl. My husband's cousin, my children's Godmother, my sister. She was a friend to our friends and if you loved us she loved you and you knew it. I am heartbroken for our loss and for Janet, Paul and Sean and all of the kids that she loved so much. I pray to God my kids will never forget what a beautiful person she was. I know I will never forget her! Pittsburgh will never ever be the same without MG and our lives will never be the same without her.

If you never met MG it's too late. God called her home and you missed your chance. Her spirit will live on in those who loved and knew Mary Grace. Rest in Peace Mary Grace. We love you and we always will! ?

Grace. We met about 3 years ago at the Rochester Inn and found a connection through Sunny Jim's. I found Mary Grace to be a strong person who dealt with her blindness and her every day life of which we all have come to learn from her to make the best of your life

We had the privileged of meeting Mary Grace when she helped us plan our wedding reception on the patio last June, had a chance to give her a hug on August 30th while my husband's group ( The El-Rey's) performed.

Mary Grace was so excited about regaining some vision last week. How premature for her to now lose her life robbing us from her cheerful presence. I was privileged to be her eye surgeon for the past 10 years or more. She always was grateful and battled with grace! Mrs Carmody, my heart aches for you as there is little I can say that you don't already know: you have raised a beautiful daughter. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I met Mary Grace as a child through the Swetoha Family. I remember the fun times we had in the summer by the pool. I was very sorry to hear of her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
