Mary Pat St. Marie Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 29, 2018.
Mary Pat was born in Grand Forks, ND in 1942 to Kay and Larry St. Marie. She was the eldest of seven children. She attended school in Detroit Lakes, MN, and remained close to many high school friends. After graduating from the College of St. Benedict, with a major in mathematics and a minor in physics, Mary Pat was hired as one of the first female computer systems analysts for Honeywell.

She married, eventually moved to California, and had two children, Susan and Tom. Mary Pat was a proud and loving grandmother of five grandsons: Cameron, Joey, Dominic, Gavin, and Zach. She was a devoted and giving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

For the past 25 years, Mary Pat's home has been in Santa Clara, California. She met many new friends and always looked forward to her weekly mah jongg and bridge groups. Mary Pat was actively involved in the P.E.O. Foundation, a philanthropic organization which promotes the advancement and education of women. She enjoyed traveling, painting, needle point, and reading. Mary Pat was famous for her ebelskivers, abundant holiday decor, candy stashes, logic puzzles, and her magical way with babies.

Mary Pat's beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of her children, Susan Peters and Tom Kuelbs; son-in-law, Jared, daughter-in-law, Shelly; five grandsons; three sisters and three brothers; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Those who knew her will remember her ease of laughter, generosity, compassion and kindness. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all.

A memorial mass for Mary Pat will be held Friday, June 1, 2018 at 1:00 PM at St. Justin Parish, 2655 Homestead Road, Santa Clara, California 95051.
