Maureen Mclean Obituary
Born in Elizabeth, Mitzi was raised in Florham Park. She and her long time companion Al were certified captains who lived many years on their boat in the Virgin Islands before moving to New Bern, North Carolina 8 years ago.
She was a Sales Specialist with Lowe's in North Carolina where she worked for the past 8 years.
Mitzi was predeceased by her parents Julius and Bridget Rakowski and 2 nephews.
She is survived by her longtime companion Alvin A. Sousa, 3 brothers Thomas, Richard, and Edward Rakowski, 2 sisters Bridgette Hunter and AnnMarie Zecca, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life is being held privately by her family.

I remember Mitzi growing up in Florham Park. She lived with her family on Kenneth Court, and I lived on Myrtle Ave, directly across Crescent. Mitzi was always so nice to me. She'd talk and laugh with me, even when the older kids would not. I was always grateful for her warm and friendly personality. God Bless you Mitzi. You are an Angel.

Oh Al and her family - Dave and I are absolutely stunned to learn of Mitzi's passing. What a loss for us all. We will always remember the willing work that she gave to all of the regattas of the West End Yacht Club in Tortola. She was loved by all and we all will miss her. RIP Mitzi

Mitzi was my sister-in-law many years ago and I truly loved her dearly. I was saddened to have lost touch with her through circumstance but always held a spot for her in my heart. When we became friends on FB, I was so happy to connect again. My sincere sympathy goes out to her family and friends. Mitzi, God Bless You and Keep You Close, through the years my parents and I would say that she was truly an angel. She was so good to my folks years ago and I will not forget her true to self. I met Mitzi when she was good friends with my sister, Betsy, in the 60's. I really liked her at that time. To re acquaint myself with her in the past few years has been wonderful! She never changed. She always loved people that loved her and was kind and supportive to them through the years. Mitzi...I'll miss you so much!!!
