Funeral Services for Melissa Ann Scott are set for October 3, 2015 11:00 AM at St. Louis Baptist Church with Rev. Anthony Williams officiating and Minister Patricia Keys eulogist. Interment will be in Galilee Cemetery under the direction of Brooks Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors.

Melissa Ann, affectionately known as "Lissa" was born July 7, 1974 to Diane and Frank Scott, Jr. in Tyler, Texas.

At an early age Melissa joined Galilee Baptist Church in Flint. With a strong Christian foundation, Melissa Continued her spiritual growth at The Church Without Walls in Houston, Texas.

Melissa was a 1992 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and received a Bachelors of Science Degree and masters Degree from Prairie View A& University. She completed further certification in Education Administration at the University of St. Thomas and participated in the Leadership Academy Harvard University. In 2013 she expanded her career internationally as an Assistant Principal in the United Arab Emirates on Delma Island.

Melissa was a member of the order of Eastern Star Nefertiti #475 and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She loved music, reading and travel.

Melissa was preceded in death by her father Frank Scott, Jr., grandparents Parthenia and Frank Scott, Sr. and Inell and Winfred Ausborne.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted mother, Diane Scott; brothers, Manuel Widemon, Lee Scott, and sister Fran Porter. Numerous neices, nephews, aunts, uncles and other loving friends.

Melissa will lie in state at the church from 10:00am to 11:00 am .
