Michael Hugh Cummings

Michael (Mike) Hugh Cummings, 71, of Vancouver, Washington passed away on November 16, 2024, after a battle with lung cancer and colon cancer.

Mike was born on March 12th, 1953 to Patricia Jane Cummings (McClintock) and Hugh Donald Cummings in Redlands, California. He spent considerable time growing up in California and later spent time living in Utah, Idaho, and finally Washington. In 1970, Mike graduated high school at Ben Lomond High School in Ogden, Utah, where he also met his late wife, Janis Johnson, who he ended up marrying in 2013. Mike later completed an apprenticeship school program for his main trade, sheet metal. He was also a successful realtor in Idaho. As would be the case for a true outdoorsman, Mike could usually be found hunting, fishing, skiing, or at the bar with friends in Utah or Idaho.

He spent over 40 years in construction, mainly sheet metal, and could build or fix just about anything. Mike also had several newspaper articles written about his work as a foreman at Superior Air Handling in Seattle. He was always extremely proud of the hard work he was responsible for.

Mike is predeceased by his wife, Janis. He is survived by his two daughters: Katelyn Ann Cummings and Sara Rose Harris (Zuckerman), as well as his grandson, Zander.
