Michael and I, fellow actors, became friends in the 1950s. We both shared an interest in Broadway musicals, and together went to the American library in Grosvenor Square to listen to LPs of the latest
hits....Carousel and The King and I amongst them. 30 years later,
we were to have opening nights on Shaftesbury Avenue in the same week! He, as producer, at the Lyric and me, as director at the Queens.
He will be greatly missed. I am so happy and proud that I was part of his life. A truly remarkable and lovely man.
