SHEWCHUK, Michael (Chuck) Peacefully, with his family at his side, Michael Shewchuk, aged 93, was called home by our Loving Lord on June 3, 2011. Michaels memory will be forever cherished by his loving sons, David (Judy) of Calgary, AB; Adrian (Susan) of Ajax, ON; Martin (Linda) Gerard of Kelowna, BC; and Neil (Gwen) of Whitecourt, AB; his grandchildren, Robb, Carol, Jillian, Deanna, Brittany, Jenna and Taylor, and four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Owen, Michael and Benjamin. He is also survived by his sister, Sandi (Robert) Burrows of Thunder Bay, ON and several nieces and nephews. Chuck was predeceased by his wife, Olga (nee Smolyk); his son, Gregory; his parents, Anna and Harry; his sisters, Mary Davies, Sophie Diswinka, and Barbara Stairs; his brothers, Harry, Nick, Nestor and John. The family sincerely thank Dr. Sean Cahill and the staff of Laurier House, Sherwood Park, who so loving and thoughtfully cared for Chuck the last 10 years. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 10825 - 97 Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral. Interment will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery.
