Michael Thomas "Mike" Thiede

Michael Thomas Thiede, known affectionately as Mike, passed away on June 8, 2024, in Middletown, Connecticut, at the age of 53. Born in Glendale, California, Mike grew to be a man of many talents and passions, touching the lives of those around him with his music, generosity, and free-spirited nature.

Mike graduated from Wilcox Technical High School, Class of '89 and went on to have a successful career as a T2 Electrician at Commnet. His professional life was marked by the same dedication and kindness he exhibited in his personal endeavors.

A gifted musician, at an early age Mike expressed his talent performing in backyard bands, playing musicals and choir. As he grew he was a singer and guitar player in several bands performing in local venues and Festivals. He was often found sharing his gift of singing and playing guitar with his family. His love for music extended to riding his motorcycle, fishing, camping, Vermont weekends in the woods, love of good food, his talented green thumb and beloved date nights with Rebekah. Mike's love for the outdoors and spending quality time with his family and friends filled his life with joy and laughter.

He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Janice Thiede; his sisters, Michelle Davison (Vance) and Sarah Davies (Jim); the love of his life, Rebekah Cardona; his children, Jakob and Delilah Thiede; his nephew/son, Michael (Mikey) Cardona; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, cousins, uncles, and aunts.

A Memorial Service will be held on June 29th at 11:00 am at Grace Methodist Church in Southington, followed by a Celebration of Michael's life at 137 Cutlery Ave South Meriden. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to support his family in care of Rebekah Cardona, during this time. Mike's legacy of music, love, and laughter will live on through the many lives he touched.
