Mike Todd

Mike Todd, 63, of Randolph, died June 20, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys Campus in Rochester.

Mike was born March 28, 1951, in Rochester, Minn., to Beverly and Darwin Todd. He graduated from St. Charles High School and Rochester Community College. 

His first job was working on the family farm and at the family grain elevator with his four brothers and dad, learning about crops, cattle and grain management.

Mike's engineering degree led him to work at Muckel Manufacturing and Multiclean, where he obtained patents for his floor cleaner designs. He later helped found two companies, Crusader and Grain Handler. Most of his working life has been dedicated to Grain Handler, a company he started with his brother, Gary, in 1979. They collaborated on designs to make a market-leading mixed-flow grain dryer and accessory equipment.

Survivors include his mom, Beverly; children, Michelle (Justin) Hoff and Jennifer (Chris) Cable; a stepson, Kevin (Amy) Toner; stepdaughter, Laura Walker; and four grandchildren, Kierra, Alex, Kate and Isabel. 
He has five siblings, Gary, Mark, Dean, Wynn and Lori, and has been preceded in death by his brother, Craig and father, Darwin.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, at St. Charles United Church of Christ, with Jason Chamberlain officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
