Muriel ROBERTSON Obituary
August 22, 1937 - March 7, 2016
Joy passed away peacefully on March 7, 2016 after a short illness. She was born in Vancouver and raised in Burnaby. Joy was predeceased by her father, Sea Captain Adam Robertson, mother Maggie, sister Betty, and brothers Angus and Robert. She will be missed by her sister Margaret, brothers Ian (Janet) and Bruce, and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Joy worked as a drug addiction councillor for many years then became the Research Librarian at BCGEU until she retired. She was an accomplished singer and also loved to play the guitar, draw and paint. She played many sports - bowling, field hockey and softball, but especially enjoyed golf in her later years. Joy travelled to many countries and because she wanted to return to China, she was learning Mandarin. We would like to thank the staff at Surrey Memorial Hospital for their kindness and special care. No service as requested, but a gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.

She was a thoroughly lovely person and wonderful to work with at the GEU. She will be missed and I extend sympathy to all the people Joy touched.
