Neil Morse Williams, 74, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 2, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Neil was born June 22, 1943, in Boise, Idaho, to Joe R. Williams and Lauraine Gyllenskog Williams. He grew up and attended schools in Boise and graduated from Boise High School. He was an active youth and enjoyed playing all kinds of sports, especially football, which he played for Boise High School and the University of Idaho. He also attended Boise State College.
On May 27, 1967, he married Shari Robertson. They had two children, David and Tiffani. Neil and Shari were later divorced.
On March 24, 1979, he married Linda Conan in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They had three children, Joe, Lesley and Greg. Neil and Linda lived in Boise, Oroville, California and Idaho Falls.
Neil worked throughout his life in a variety of construction trades. He owned a pool service, worked for major construction companies throughout the Northwest, and for the family business Conan Heating & Air Conditioning in Idaho Falls. For several years in his retirement he owned and operated Journey's End Golf Course in Shelley, Idaho.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in Ireland, which he loved, and always looked forward to his mission reunions. He also enjoyed serving as a bishop in Oroville, California.
Some of his fondest memories were of playing sports and later as a referee. He came from a political family and continued the tradition as a member of the Democratic Party, running for State Senate. He enjoyed rooting for the Boise Braves, Boise State Broncos and against Borah High School. He also enjoyed watching sports (especially when his kids and grandchildren were playing), golf, and remodeling his home, but his favorite activity was spending time with his family.
Neil is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Linda Williams of Idaho Falls, ID; son, David (Camille) Williams of Boise, ID; daughter, Tiffani Williams of Issaquah, WA; son, Joe (Tiffany) Williams of Blackfoot, ID; daughter, Lesley Williams of Atlanta, GA; son, Greg Williams of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Roger Williams of Boise, ID; sister, Jolaine Winkler of Council, ID; brother, Milt (Kim) Williams of Boise, ID; sister, Kristin (Allen) King of Idaho Falls, ID; brother-in-law Walt Root of Issaquah, WA and seven grandchildren (Vanessa, Ben, Violet, Eva, Mason, Corben and Max).
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Gregory and Bruce Williams, a sister, Linda Root, sister-in-law Anita Conan and brother-in-law Neal Winkler.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at the Idaho Falls LDS Cedar Ridge Ward, 3195 South Holmes Avenue, with Bishop Nolan Jensen officiating. The family will visit with friends from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.

Will and I worked together and became good friends in Oroville, Ca.
I lost track of him when he moves back to Idaho. We are here in Idaho Falls and I was hoping to renew our friendship. Very sorry to hear of his passing. I will just have to see him later.

Will miss an old friend, Neil Williams. We met at North Junior High School. I remember some shenanigans he used to pull at the Record Store in downtown Boise :-) He still looks like he did as a teen. Prayers to his family and friends.
