Oscar Moss Obituary
Oscar Lee Moss was born October 4, 1947 in Mellwood, Arkansas to Charlie Moss Jr. and Hosie Beatrice Miller Moss. Oscar accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior while growing up in Austin, Texas. Oscar was called home to meet his Lord and Savior on October 30, 2017, at the age of 70.
Oscar married his wonderful wife, Juanita Moss in Oahu, Hawaii in 1982. Oscar was known, loved, and respected by family and friends. He was a very special Husband, father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, Cousin, and Uncle.
Oscar was a 30-year Veteran of the United States Army. Oscar was drafted in 1968, he had no idea he would stay in the Army and make it a career. However, in 1974 Oscar was selected to become an Army Drill Instructor at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He said, "It was an Honor, to be selected as a Drill Instructor" and "It was the beginning of the most intellectually, challenging two weeks of his young Army career". He was excited because this represented a new challenge which he looked forward to. Oscar felt the same way when he was again selected to become a Sargent Major for the United States Army.
Oscar leaves behind four children. Three children with Cynthia Ann West; Lisa Karambelas, Marlin Moss, and Michael Moss, and one child with Juanita Moss; Monica Moss-Hall.
Oscar is survived by his loving Step-Mother, Georgia Ann Moss of Austin, Texas, loving wife of 35 years Juanita Moss, daughter, Lisa Karambelas (Dennis); son Marlin Moss; son, Michael Moss and daughter, Monica Moss-Hall (Randy). Sisters, Mable Moss Robinson White, Fannie Moss-Higgins Johnson (William), Bertha Ann Moss Williams, Elvita Wright (Eugene), Jewel Walker, Brother, Virgil Hardeman (Jacklin), and sister-in-law, Brenda White.
Viewing and visitation will be 10:00-11:00 AM Tuesday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Chapel in Killeen who is in charge of the arrangements.

Once again God saw SGM Oscar Lee Moss, USASMA Class 31 getting tired and a cure was not to be so He put His arms around you and whispered come to me. You remind us, Lord, through Solomon that to everything there is a season. We thank You for the earthly life You gave to this sergeant major and for the blessing during the sojourn here on the earth. We most especially thank You for the new life You granted this sergeant major in Jesus Christ. He broke the bonds of death by His resurrection. We rejoice at the hope of being reunited with him in the resurrection of all flesh. The NCO Corps thanks him for his selfless service act and his willingness to defend of America and all that we hold sacred. I believe for every fallen sergeant major like him there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift God has given the Corps. Rest easy, sleep well my brother. Know the line was held, your job is done. Rest easy, sleep well. Others have taken up where you fell, the line has held. Peace, peace, and farewell

Please accept our sincere Condolences. This is heartbreaking for so many people as Oscar taught us all so much. Either one or all of his co-workers would seek guidance from him almost daily and he'd never hesitate to share his knowledge. It seems surreal now even being near the HQ's Building.
