Patricia A. Schafer

MARION: Patricia A. Schafer, 83, of Marion, formerly of Clyde, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 in Marion.

She was born August 24, 1930 in Clyde to the late George D. and Alma (Smith) Rogers.

Patricia graduated from Clyde High School in 1948. She had worked for Dr. Woodruff, at the The Lighthouse, and in several insurance offices. A people person, she enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her family.

Her husband, William J. Schafer survives in Marion. Together since 1986, they lived many different places, including Florida, Columbus, and Marion; also surviving are her children: Carolyn (Larry) Miller of Columbus, Susan (Tom) McClanahan of Columbus, Steve (Amy) Ricker of Toledo, Kenneth (Patricia) Ricker of Perrysburg; her step-children: Michael (Amy) Schafer of Bay Village and Thomas (Cynthia) Schafer of Wake Forest, NC; her grandchildren: James, Kevin, Richard, Jennifer, Stephanie, Jaimie, Samantha, Ashleigh, Sarah, and Brian; step-grandchildren: Evan, Sophia, Abby, Kristen, and Jake; great-grandchildren: Ethan, Jacob, Dylan, Brandon, Corey, Regan, Adayla, Hunter, Carson, Braeden, and Mallory; her sister, Peggy Meyers of Bellevue; and brother-in-law, Ralph Kinsey of Fremont.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her siblings: Kathryn Carter, Mary Lou Kinsey and George, Richard, David, and Donald Rogers; and the father of her children: Richard Ricker.

Visitation will be 9-11am Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde. Her funeral service will be 11:00am Saturday, May 31 at the funeral home with Rev. Alan Knoke officiating. Burial will follow in McPherson Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.

Dear Carolyn,
It's been many many years since we've been in touch. Just happened to catch the phrase 'worked in Dr. Woodruff's office' when I realized this obituary was your Mom's. I'm so very sorry for your loss. You mom was so friendly and outgoing. Please accept our deepest condolences.
