Paul Morrissette Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from May 19 to May 20, 2023.
Paul Morrissette, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on May 19, 2023, in Durham, North Carolina, at the age of 77. He was born on August 15, 1945, in Fall River, Massachusetts, to Bernadette and Normand Morrissette.

Paul led a remarkable life, graduating from Providence College and building a successful career with Lipton Tea and parent company Unilever. In retirement, he immersed himself in golf, bridge, and cheering on his beloved Boston Red Sox and New York Giants through thick and thin. At the bridge table, he forged close friendships, mentored many newcomers, and was especially proud of having attained the level of Gold Life Master.

Paul is survived by his wife Colette DeNieff, sons Paul (Wendy) and Glenn, siblings Jeanne (Umberto) Latessa, Robert, Normand, Louise (Paul) Bacon, Roger (Robin), granddaughters Courtney, Lauren, Julia, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Those who wish to honor Paul's memory with a charitable contribution are encouraged to support Hock Family Pavilion Hospice (4321 Medical Park Dr. Suite 101, Durham, NC 27704) or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.jdrf.org).

Sorry to hear about the news
Collette of Paul's passing. It was a very long fight for him and he did his best. He was a good brother in law and was very nice guy to be with when visiting.

Paul dear friend and neighbor. His Bostonian accent brought cheer among those of us with a more southern draw. Paul loved his Boston Red Sox. He was a master of Bridge. And he had a tenacity that ran deep regardless of circumstances. Many a dinner party, and friendship gathering shared with him. But now it's Paul's time to rest in peace. To his sweet heart Colette, we love you.

So many happy memories with Paul to share, but I am happy to have spent much time with him for so many years. Hours in our carpool, at golf and arguing politics and Red Sox/Yankees. We will miss you Paul, but he will continue his love of family.
