Wow - I am so sad to hear of this. I spent from 1989 to 1999 at Boole & Babbage, through the merger with BMC and then left BMC in early 2005. The years I spent at Boole & Babbage were with Paul at the helm. They were the absolute best. Paul was an extremely intelligent individual, but also very street-smart/savvy and very personable. He was a great leader. Always ready to travel to visit customers, and wanted to see his team do well. I cannot count the times he called me personally for my thoughts on something. Paul was a leader that cared; when he called, you'd do what was needed. Jump on a flight to SJC to come to HQ - no problem. Meet him at a customer site - sure, when? Get on a quick call - absolutely! I can remember dinner with Paul and his wife one night at a Presidents Club event. Two great comments from Paul - "Tom, you really know music Trivia" and "You've got great taste in art (I had a lithograph, he had an original; the artist, was Robert Katona - never in my life would I have thought Paul would have known the artist). One night I was fortunate to have dinner with Paul and Pitch Johnson at either the 25th or 30th anniversary event (Can't recall which). What a powerhouse team they were. Reality is, both were just good people at heart. My condolences to the Newton family. Your husband/father was a tremendous individual. Not a bad legacy for a fellow from Macon!
