Paul Vlach Obituary

Visit the Legacy Remembers website to view the full obituary.

It is with our deepest sorrow we announce that our beloved, Paul Thomas Vlach, age 39, took the hand of his Lord on Dec. 25, 2009 with his family by his side. Paul fought a two month courageous battle with cancer.

Paul was born on Jan. 2, 1970 in Los Angeles, and at the age of 7, he moved with his family to Camarillo where he grew up and graduated from Camarillo High School in 1988. He graduated from California State University, Fresno in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management.

Since 1988 he loved his career in the family construction business. Paul's passions, even since childhood, were the love of motocross racing with his brother, spending weekends traveling with his family, and his joy of taking care of the avocado orchard.

Paul enjoyed sharing his life with his niece and nephew. He loved them dearly and he was always with them. Paul had a heart of gold; he was always happy, kind and gentle to everyone. He had a passion for our Lord, the study of the Bible, and the serenity of a quiet place of natural beauty. Paul was a man whose words were spoken from the heart. With just a few words, he could make someone laugh. Our hearts are broken Paul, we love you so very much.

Paul was preceded in death in 2006 by his dad, Jiri George Vlach.

Paul leaves behind his mother, Ludmila Vlach; brother, George Vlach; sister, Ivana Hyson; brother-in-law, Tom Hyson; niece, Kaelyn Hyson and nephew, Michael Hyson; his dear friend Veronica; Godson Gavin Valdez, his many other good friends, and his relatives in the Czech Republic.

A service to celebrate Paul's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Camarillo Community Church, 1322 Las Posas Rd., Camarillo, with the burial to immediately follow at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park.

Assisting the family with arrangements is Conejo Mountain Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 2052 Howard Rd., Camarillo, 93012; 805-482-1959.

Dopracovaly pilné ruce, utichlo navždy predobré srdce. Ocima se už nepodíváš, ted klidným spánkem
odpocíváš. Utichlo srdce, zustal jen žal, ten, kdo Te miloval, vzpomíná dál.
Zustaneš navždy v našich srdcích.

You will forever live in our hearts.

Dear Family and Friends of Paul, I knew Paul when he was a little child playing with my son, Trevor White, in the rolling hills of Mission Oaks. He was a precious child on earth and is now safe and secure in the arms of his Heavenly Father.May your hearts and souls find peace and comfort and may God's Grace strengthen and sustain you.

I had not seen Paul since High School and all the fun times we all had, meeting at McDonald's in our cars to figure out where to go next... I came to the memorial and cemetary today but I was unable to attend the reception. I have to say I saw a truly most beautiful and very loving family saying goodbye to their beloved. The service was so touching and focused on the your love for Paul, and his love for the Lord. George, you are just as I remember you and I also remember you were an amazing big brother to Paul. I will always look back on those old times as some of the best times of our lives! I felt priveleged to have known Paul a little bit. I am so sorry for your loss and I pray the Lord comfort you and your family during this difficult time and beyond.

May your faith in the good Lord comfort you and your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate Paul's life. Paul was one of the nicest friends I had in our neighborhood. I remember him always on his bike, feet on the ground, rolling back & forth while we chatted. One day i showed Paul a ring that my father had given me for Christmas (around 12 y/o). The ring flew off my finger and landed in the bark of the flower bed; i was certain to never see the ring again. Paul laid down his bike *no kickstand* and began to look for this tiny piece of gold instantly. I was so afraid i had lost it for good, but Paul found my ring! I still have the ring I wore for 20+ years and every time I glanced at it, I recalled my dear friend Paul. I remembered his telephone number until i was about 30 y/o. Many miles apart but forever in my Heart. Your Beloved Son, brother, uncle, friend will forever be remembered as a kind loving Child of God, and I am comforted to know he is no longer in pain, and he is Home with Jesus! Love in Christ, my friend. ~ Carey (Young) Nottingham

I never sat down and talked with Paul like I did with his father and brother I remember the times when thay would all come over to the house and work on the mixer until late at night and that was went I got to know Lita his mother. Paul was very quite but he smiled all the time and you could see the kindness in him. Not long ago I was talking to my husband(Jed) about the time we went with George and Paul to a zzTops concert it was so much fun after the concert Paul and I walked around in some mall that was there I had never been there so he was showing me around I think I did most of the talking Paul was very shy but we all had a good time and when I hear one of ther songs that has wow-wow in it I think of that night we went to the concert. When Jed would come home from work and he tells me he had a good day I knew he was working with Paul and also Paul would pick up Jed for work in the morning and I knew Jeds day would be good. Paul will be dearly missed by all who knew him

It is with great saddness that I am writing this message. I want to wish my sincere condolences to the Vlach family and to the many dear friends of Paul.

This poem seems fitting and helped me when my mom recently passed...

God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around you
And whispered “Come with Me.”
With tearful eyes we watched you suffer
And saw you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Laying loving hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

To Paul's family and friends : I am so very sorry for your loss and may god be with you during this difficult time.

I didn't know Paul, He actually use to come in to the convieniance store i worked at 10 years ago. I remembered his face because I use to call him Brad Pitt. I told him once of his resemblance to the actor and he became very shy. =)
But what stands out the most from my memories is what he did one day.
Out the window of the convieniance store, I saw the old woman that just came in to the store to buy licorice. She was standing at the curb, cane in hand, trying to cross the street to the movie theatre. When Paul came in (i never knew his real name) I had mentioned to him "that poor old woman is trying to cross the road and I am afraid she is going to get hit" as he walked out of the store, he made his way to the woman, then he slowly walked her across the street. That made my heart melt with the kindness he showed to this woman. Paul must have really been a stand out guy!
I just wanted to share my memory of this big hearted generous man with his family and friends. I pray you all find comfort in the lord during your difficult time.
