Ray Ira Brown, 69, a beloved member of the High Point community, peacefully passed away on January 16, 2025, at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Born on August 13, 1955, Ray was a longtime resident of High Point and is remembered for his unwavering kindness and selfless spirit.

Ray dedicated many years to driving a taxi cab, providing essential transportation for residents throughout the area. He worked with several companies, including Red Bird, Heaglers Taxi, First Class Cab, and Yellow Cab. His commitment to helping others extended well beyond his professional life, as he was known for his deep compassion and generosity.

A great man of faith, Ray was an ardent supporter of President Donald J. Trump and was eagerly awaiting his recent inauguration when he passed away. He was described as a mighty warrior of God who lived his faith through action. For many years, Ray engaged in charitable work, feeding the homeless and supporting the less fortunate. His heartfelt ministry took him to the Guilford County Jail, where he shared his faith and provided hope to those in need.

In 2008, Ray married the love of his life, Adriane, who preceded him in death but is fondly remembered as awaiting him in Heaven. Ray found his spiritual home in 2015 at Word Seekers International Church, where he met Pastors Toby and Brenda Johnson. It was here that he not only found a church community but also a family that loved him dearly. Known affectionately as "Mr. Ray," he was the embodiment of kindness, with a genuine love for everyone he encountered.

As part of his ministry at church, Ray operated the food ministry, devoting five days a week to picking up and delivering food to those in need. His dedication was remarkable; he would often respond to calls for assistance in the middle of the night, ensuring that no one went hungry. Alongside his transportation of church families and children to services and outings, Ray continually prayed for others, aiming for everyone to know Jesus Christ as their personal savior.

Ray had cherished routines, including being a regular morning customer at Tom's Place Restaurant, where he was known for enjoying fluffy scrambled eggs with his friends, whom they playfully dubbed the "Counter Intelligence Group." The warmth of their camaraderie brought him joy. He also found comfort and companionship in a Precious relationship with a waitress at Longhorn in High Point, Miss Tonya, who became like a goddaughter to him, often caring for him and ensuring he had meals. Ray also spoke of his beloved family, especially his daughter Kristy, and grandchildren, and loved seeing his Grandson Tyler get married, last year. Ray also loved the Food delivery ministry and loved all those who helped him through the last 8 years, James, John, Ben, Perceive, Samir, Dipson, Ishan, Ashbin, Ranjan, Bibash, Nick, Junior, Dexter, DT, Michael, Brian, Seth, Wayne, Amy, Khon, Bom, Ruyen, Warren, Loretta & Ricky. What a great support team Ray had.

Ray’s loving spirit will be deeply missed by his daughter, Kristy Knight of Sanford; his grandchildren, Kristen Merzigian (Greg) of Atlanta, GA, Tyler McNeill (Lauren) of Seagrove; Matti Deese (Logan) of Broadway, Josie Bishop of Sanford; and his great granddaughter, Erica McNeill of Seagrove. He is also survived by his brother, Junior Brown of High Point, and several nephews, Adam, Dustin, Jason, Mickie and Nathan; great nieces and nephews, all of High Point.

Ray Ira Brown leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion. His impact on the community, church, and the lives he touched will be felt for years to come. He will be remembered fondly by friends, family, and customers from his taxi days, as his absence creates a void that will be difficult to fill.

The celebrations of life will be held at Noon and two o'clock on Saturday, February 8th, 2025 at Word Seekers Int'l Church, where all are invited to honor this remarkable man who dedicated his life to serving others. A reception will follow the two o'clock service.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to Word Seekers Int'l Church, 812 Nance Avenue, High Point, North Carolina 27263.

We await this wonderful Celebration. Feb 8th, 2025!
