On Saturday, June 23, 2012, Richard Ozipko, Saskatoon, SK. and formerly of West Bend, SK. passed away at the age of 64 years. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church, Fort Qu'Appelle, SK. on Friday, June 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. by the Rev. Glenn Zimmer O.M.I. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Richard was predeceased by his mother Annie in 1998 and his father Stanley in 2007 and is survived by one sister, Delores (Neil) Soll, Yorkton and their family; Trevor (Cheryl) Soll and family Teyton, Avery, Kienan and Adalei, Edmonton; Leanne (Kent) Hesterman and their dog Beaver, Edmonton; Raelene Soll and her dog Roxy, Edmonton. Two brothers: Jim (Rita) Ozipko, Penfield, New York and their family, Sandy Ozipko, Penfield, Lisa Ozipko, Rawliegh, North Carolina and Susan Ozipko and her family, Morgan, and Jimmie , Penfield; Lorne (Shirley) Ozipko and their family Ryan and Tracey, Emerald Park, SK. Richard has had an amazing Journey through life. He was a quiet natured person who did everything in precise detail. Born March 11, 1948 in Foam Lake, he attended public school in Gilbert and graduated high school in Foam Lake. He attended Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon to be a service technician. He was employed as a service rep for I.H. Yorkton area and later transferred to Calgary, Alberta. 1980 he moved to Roblin Man.as owner-operator of R-N-L International with his brother Lorne and brother-in-law Neil. During the 10 years of operating the dealership he also farmed the homestead in West Bend area until 2006 he moved to Saskatoon selling the farm to Ducks Unlimited. In Saskatoon he was "Grandpa" to all the neighborhood kids. He was diagnosed with leukemia in 2004. This was the beginning of his independent and courageous battle with the disease under the care of Dr. G. Waleed Sabry at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon until his passing on June 23, 2012. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire contributions to the Royal University Hospital, or the Canadian Cancer Society in Saskatoon.
