On Friday, June 3, 2016, age 88, of Oakmont. Beloved husband of Patricia Barker Parran; loving father of Richard B. Parran, Jr. (Leslie) and John C. Parran (Susie); stepfather of Linda Lee Pretty (John), Reed C. Peters II and Samuel S. Peters (Paula); brother of Theodore V. Parran; grandfather to Sandra V. Pertz (Ryan), Katherine K. Marks (Kyle), Richard B. Parran III, Jessica L. Parran and David B. Parran, Jr.; step-grandfather of Jessica Lee Pretty, William R. Peters and Emily Peters; great-grandfather of Rory B. Pertz and Theodore J. Marks. Also survived by his daughter-in-law, Cindy R. Parran. Preceded in death by his first wife, Veolante B. Parran; his son, David B. Parran; and brothers, Thomas Parran, Jr. and Benjamin Parran. Mr. Parran was a graduate of Haverford College and received his MBA from Harvard. He retired as VP of Human Resources for PPG and was a valuable member of numerous volunteer boards in Pittsburgh, PA and Wickenburg, AZ. Funeral Service and Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to: Del E. Webb Center for the Performing Arts, 2001 W. Wickenburg Way, Wickenburg, AZ 85390 or to St. Thomas Memorial Episcopal Church, 378 Delaware Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139. Arrangements entrusted to the ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC.
