Robert Austin Obituary

ROBERT H AUSTIN, age 89, passed away at home on Friday January 25, 2008 with family and friends present. Robert (Bob) led a full life, was an avid golfer until only a few years ago, and was much loved by his family. Robert was a Major in the US Army Air Forces, and served as a pilot during WW II. He graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. Robert owned Surety Title Company in Sinton and Portland, Texas, and upon retiring moved to Houston, Texas where he worked as a Golf Marshal at several golf courses, including Champions Golf Club. He is survived by his wife Constance Austin, his daughter Bona Collins and husband Mike Collins of Houston, granddaughter Tamara Ohlson and husband Israel Ohlson of Houston, great-grandchildren Rayna and Asa Ohlson, sister-in-law Beverly Cook and husband George Cook of Portland TX, and nieces and nephews in Colorado, Illinois, and Texas. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday February 1, 2008, at the Chapel in the Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive in Houston, Texas. Donations in his memory may be sent to Lighthouse Hospice, 14011 Park Dr, Suite 201, Tomball, TX 77377.

bona, your dad was always so much fun when he would come in the salon. i think he really enjoyed visiting with us. he was trully a sweet man. i will keep you and your family in my prayers.
