Dear Edith and Family,

May God bless you.

Edith you and Bob played a big part in my life when we first met. I was new to the Lord, and your constant prayers help me keep my eyes on HIM who gives us such unmerited blessings. I pray that our Lord blesses you and comforts you at this time.

By HIS grace.

Dear Edie and Family,
I was very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. We have lost a person who truly cared about others. I remember visiting Larry at the firehouse with our kids. Bob's smile always gave away the teasing that would be part of the conversation. He left us with good life lessons... helping others, being friendly and always smiling. I hope that you can feel the prayers and support of all of the people whose lives he touched.

Dearest Edie and children,
I am truly sorry to think of the pain and sorrow you are feeling at this time. When I reflect on the hours spent with your family I realize what an influence you made on my life. Bob could always make me laugh and always was able to make any situation into a very interesting story. May you find peace and comfort in remembering your special moments with him.

To the Barton Clan,
As I write this from Bill & Shirley's house in Florida the fond memories of growing up under the influence of Bob and Edie come flooding back to me. Bob was definately one of my best friends, who I respected and admired as I matured. These last few years I missed him not teasing me about the FD, being on the village board or any other topic that he thought could "get my goat". I loved it. So many laughs and so many stories - he was one of a kind.

It consoles me to think that My Anna now has another wonderful person to fly with her in heaven.

It's not goodbye, it's merely I'll see you later Bob - save your stories!

I learned a lot about euchre and a lot about life at Bob's kitchen table. I fondly remember him calling us Agnes when our hair would get a little long :). Next to my own fathers influence, it was men like Bob, Gramps, Homer, Red etc that I looked up to as role models. I am so fortunate that my life was touched by Bob. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the Barton family.

Dear Edith and family,
You have my sincere sympathy at this difficult time. Bobby's passing closes another historic chapter of firefighting in Greece and Spencerport. My early years with Kodak FD were saturated with exciting Bobby Barton stories from his SFD cronies like Haworth, Schott, and Lamberson. I remember him as being a cool, highly skilled member of the early career force at Greece Ridge. Indeed, he helped set the pace for today's crop of brave young men and women serving the Ridge Road Fire District. Visiting, I can still picture him on duty with a variety of great RRFD guys of the past; names that include Richardson, Chennell, Ottman, Wood, Mambretti, Lockner, Phillips, Kelly, Fichtemaier, Zok and others. Chief Butch was always there too. Those were the days. Bobby's keen sense of humor made it all function like a watch. And so, he is gone, but not even death can separate us from many fond memories. Rest easy old friend.

Edie and family,
I have such fond memories of the firehouse and all the people involved. Now Bob is in heaven sitting around a large table, drinking coffee and telling fire stories with Tom and the other brother firemen. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and I know that your happy memories of Bob will get you through this very sad time.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, will award me on that day, and not only me, but to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8.

God bless all of you and keep you in the palm of His mighty hand.
