Beloved father, grandfather and friend lost to a heart attack. He is survived by his four children, son Brian Burns and his wife Kim, daughters Katherine Burns of Rhode Island, Colleen Burns, and Allison Burns; his two grandchildren Haley and Autumn; his two sisters Helen Jane Cackette-Burns of California and Linda Nelson; his niece Laura Cackette and nephews Joel Nelson, Roger Nelson and David Cackette; and the rest of his family and friends.
Bob was born in Seattle. He graduated from Ingraham High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor's of Construction Management from the University of Washington. A devoted Husky and football season ticket holder, he reminded us that real dawgs wear purple.
He served in the Coast Guard, traveling the world from Vietnam and Japan to Alaska. Bob retired from Boeing as a project manager after over 30 years of dedicated service. His last project was the Dreamliner 787. He enjoyed what he called the four F's: Family, Food, Fun and Football.
He was a generous father and friend, quick with a chuckle and kind to all he met. His patience and heart for others will leave him forever loved, deeply missed and remembered with a smile. His dad jokes will keep us laughing always.
The memorial will be held from 1-4 PM on Friday, September 15th, 2017 at Acacia Memorial Park and Funeral Home. 14951 Bothell Way NE Seattle, WA 98155. The celebration will consist of a brief service followed by a catered gathering to share memories.

Sadden to see you go but I know we all gained an angel. You were always the most caring and happiest person. I'll always cheerish the family vacations and will never forget my wake boarding experience "lean na back" I still laugh about that until this day.
