Claudia, Rachel and Shanah,
We are so sorry for your loss. One of the greatest opportunities ever offered to me in life was to work for Bob and the Henson Fuerst team. To work beside such a brilliant attorney whom all respected in his profession enhanced my career as a nurse, and my heart as a person. Bob had a way of making each and every person feel "welcome" and "at ease" in his world, no matter where they came from. We have you in our thoughts and prayers.

I will miss Bob Fuerst.

I will remember Bob for his razor-sharp intelligence and soft-spoken kindness. He radiated a kind of personal warmth that made people feel calm just being in his presence. The world will be a sadder, lesser place without him.

Claudia and Family, I am so deeply saddened to hear of Bob's passing. He was a great friend and advocate. The most fun memories I have so far in my practice of law were those days when he and I and Ed Moore were the only ones in Rocky Mount who handled any domestic law. I will never forget his humor and his fierce sense of protection and advocacy for his clients. He was a fine human being and I am sure he will be missed greatly by all of his friends and family. I also think of your class often...how much fun we had, how much we learned while having fun, how much I got Ed in trouble without getting caught myself. I also remember the stories you used to tell about traveling with Mr. Fuerst, Shanah, and Rachel when the girls were little and the funny things they would say. Happy stories filled with love. I hope you are able to find comfort in the happy stories. You and the girls are in my thoughts and prayers.

My most sincere condolenses to all the Fuerst family. I grew up with Bobby as a fellow congregant at Temple Beth El in Rocky Mount and then entered UNC-Chapel Hill 1 year after him. Although we did not socialize a great deal at Carolina (I think we were both too devoted to our studies), I had the privilege of becoming friends with his lovely wife Claudia at UNC and have warm memories of that friendship. My condolences to the Fuerst family. Bob and my paths crossed briefly at the wedding of Rebekah and my son Brian. We talked about politics and law and our mutual Wisc college experiences in 1969/70. I wish I could have gotten to know him better.
