Robert Grzenia Obituary
Grzenia, Robert S. "Bob" 80, of Chicago, IL passed away at home on Saturday, September 25. Bob was born on December 26, 1929 in Chicago and was a graduate of Muscoda High School in Muscoda, WI. He served his country with honor in the Army during the Korean War, where he was decorated with a Purple Heart for injuries sustained in battle. He later served as Commander of Bridgeport V.F.W. Post 5079. Bob was a long-time parishioner of St. Gall Catholic Church in Chicago, where he was an usher, lector and Eucharistic Minister. Bob enjoyed fishing in northern Wisconsin and spending time with his family. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Ann (nee Beczek) Grzenia of Chicago, IL, daughters, Karen Rediger and husband Ron of St. Charles, IL and Donna Jones and husband Ron of Chicago, IL, son, Steve and wife Mary Lou of Batavia, IL, grandchildren, Katy and Dan Rediger, Kelly, Kristie and Allie Jones, and Paige and Kaylee Grzenia, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Veronica, brothers, Ray, Paul and Adam, brothers-in-law Joseph Beczek and Fred Beczek, and nephew Kevin Beczek. Visitation Tuesday, 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. from the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 4950 W. 79th St., Burbank, to St. Bede The Venerable Church, 8200 S. Mary Anne, Steve & Mary Lou, Karen & Ron, and Donna & Ron, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this very difficult time. I wish I could be there to extend my sympathies in person. Bob was a very special man. He will live on in the many lives he has touched and inspired.
