Family-Placed Obituary

ROBERT WHITE ROSENTHAL Robert White Rosenthal, 84, of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away on Wednesday December 12, 2007. Husband of 56 years of Peggy (Margaret), father of Dr. Ned. S. Rosenthal (Holly) and Dr. Charles W. Rosenthal, grandfather of Neal Rosenthal and Dean Rosenthal. Bob was born March 6, 1923 in Baltimore, MD. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa at the age of 20 from John's Hopkins University where he was captain of the wrestling team and played varsity lacrosse. He than earned a Masters degree from Purdue University and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Rosenthal was a research chemist in Pittsburgh, PA where he and Peggy raised their children and after retiring to Hallandale, FL, began a second career as an Adjunct Professor of Chemistry at FIU. During his research career, he published numerous papers and developed many patents and served as President of the American Chemical Society in Pittsburgh. His great joy was spending time with his wife Peggy and his family, traveling the world, playing tennis and duplicate bridge. He was a Life Master in duplicate bridge and taught bridge for many years. The family request donations in his memory to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. A Memorial Service will be held TODAY (Friday) December 14, 2007 at 11:00 am at the chapel of Levitt Weinstein Memorial Chapel, 7500 N. State Road 7, Coconut Creek, FL.
