Bob Scheiwiller was my middle school music teacher, at Chestnut Hill Junior High. Later, I became his first employee at Central Music, in Syracuse. During that time, I learned a lot about hard work and smart business practices. When it was time for me to go to Potsdam, Bob's alma mater, he was the person who drove me to my first day at school (a 3hr. round trip) and introduced me to some of his favorite professors. After I graduated from Potsdam, Bob was just starting to ramp up his extensive business empire and he offered me a job as a salesman. Due to my draft status, I had to turn him down. Many years later, when I started a business of my own, Bob's new company, American Music, helped me stock my store. It goes without saying that Bob Scheiwiller was an enormous influence in my life and my heart goes out to his family and close friends.
