ROBERT SWISHER

Robert Morris Swisher, age 90 of Conyers, died peacefully on Thursday, June 17, 2010. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Thelma (Brueggen) Swisher; brothers, Loren, Jack and Graydon Swisher; sisters, Jean Reeves and Marian Mount; daughter Laura Jane Swisher. He is survived by his brother, Don Swisher; daughter, Linda Brown (Gary); sons, Steve Swisher (Mary), Frank Swisher (Jingle); grandchildren, Cameron Brown, Laura Brown, Stanley Swisher. Mr. Swisher served in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He retired from Colonial Stores at the age of 65 and worked for Colonial as a consultant for another 10 years. He was a member of the Refrigeration Services Engineers Society. His hobbies included gourmet cooking, baking and fishing. His most recent accomplishment was becoming Wii bowling champion at Merryvale Assisted Living, where he will also be sorely missed. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 7 p.m. at Scot Ward's Harry White Chapel with Father John Kieran officiating; interment of his cremains and his wife's cremains will be at a later date in Kentucky. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. prior to the service.
