Ryan Chew Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 3, 2019.
It is with great sadness, that the family of Ryan Hin-Wai Chew, wish to announce his sudden passing on Monday, December 31, 2018 at the age of 27 years.

Ryan was dedicated to an active and healthy lifestyle. He loved attending Yoga and Spin classes, sometimes as much as 7+ times a week. Ryan's Yoga instructor, Chris Rurka, was someone he looked up to and aspired to be.
Ryan's adventurous spirit influenced his love for hiking and travelling with his family and friends. Some of these places included Hong Kong, Shanghai, Suzhou, snorkeling in Borneo and a Canopy Treetop Tour in Kota Kinabalu, where he walked the top of ancient trees and witnessed the grandeur of a hundred-million-year-old rainforest. Ryan also saw Sultan's Palace in Brunei, and experienced a variety of street food across many European countries. When he was not exploring the world, he enjoyed cheering on Canadian speed skaters like Denny Morrison, and figure skaters Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue.

Ryan was a fun, happy and compassionate individual with a big heart. He was always there in times of need, both for his family and his friends. His perfectionist personality and GQ style is an attribute we will all remember.

He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Lily; Paternal Grandfather and Step-Grandmother, Fook Ho (Yen) Chew; Maternal Grandmother, Shui Yiu Lee; Uncles and Aunts, Alex (Jacoba) Chew, Francis (Karen) Chew, Lily (Hung) Trinh, Nancy (Joe) Tang, Way Man (Marina) Lee, Peter (Brenda) Lee, Jimmy (Hannah) Lee and Ricky (Sim) Lee. Ryan will also be lovingly remembered by many cousins, extended relatives, and dear friends.

Memorial Donations will be accepted by the family on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, to be forwarded to a charity, yet to be chosen.
