Sandra Molinari Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 5, 2023.
Sandra Ann Molinari, also known as Sandy, peacefully passed away on August 25, 2023, at the age of 82 in Walnut Creek, CA. She was surrounded by her loving family. Sandy was born on November 28, 1941 to Albert Damelio and Esther Jenks in Massachusetts. She was the beloved wife of Rich Molinari, and together they created a beautiful life filled with love and cherished memories.

Sandy's dedication and hard work were evident from an early age. As a teenager, she assisted her father at the family grocery store and later took an office position in San Francisco. This experience ignited a spark within her that would never be extinguished. Sandy's commitment to her family was unwavering, and she supported her husband Richard in opening a family restaurant while still in her twenties. Despite her initial lack of experience, Sandy excelled in her new responsibilities, honing her business management skills at a young age.

In her thirties, Sandy embarked on a new career path, joining J.B Cusick Company, an Industrial Food Brokers Firm located in Orinda, California. She started as a secretary but soon developed her sales abilities. Over time, Sandy had the opportunity to purchase shares and become a 50% owner/partner in the company. Sandy's perseverance and determination challenged gender biases in what was once considered an "all boys' industry." Her success and dedication paved the way for future generations of women.

During the 80s, Sandy worked with Priceclub, a major Club Store, where she played a crucial role in developing the first private label retail nut line. With meticulous attention to detail, Sandy ensured the highest quality of ingredients and packaging, aiming to instill confidence in consumers regarding private label products. Her passion for the nut industry spanned over 45 years, and she thrived in this global market.

In 2006, Sandy entered into another business venture, founding Golden International Dist., a fully owned and operated woman-run company. She took immense pride in leading this successful enterprise until 2020, gradually taking a lighter role until her passing. Sandy's extensive travels introduced her to remarkable individuals worldwide, fostering deep connections and meaningful relationships.

Sandy's dedication to her career was admirable, and her absence will be deeply felt. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, determination, and breaking barriers.

Outside of her professional achievements, Sandy found joy in various hobbies. She was an active member of a ladies' golf group in Blackhawk, where she spent many delightful hours honing her skills on the green. Golf brought her immense pleasure and allowed her to forge lasting friendships.

Sandy's spiritual journey was a personal one, as she explored different philosophies and expanded her spiritual enlightenment. While baptized Catholic, she also studied the philosophy of Buddhism, embracing a broader understanding of spirituality.

Sandy will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and a dear friend to many. She leaves behind her brother, Albert Damelio, sis in-law Paula, sister, Linda Lambert, her son, Rich Molinari, his wife Linda, and their children, Michael, Kristina, Marissa, Richard III, as well as grandchildren Derek, Kaden, and Isaac. She is also survived by her daughter Lisa Molinari and partner Ronald Horton, her son Mario Molinari, his wife Marilyn, their children 2 lovely daughters, and 2 grandchildren.

Sandy's warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering determination will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her soul find eternal peace.

Sandy was always calm, patient and polite.
She had heart for people and was always very sincere. We used to travel together and I enjoyed times staying with her at her house in Blackhawk.

Sandra Molinari was a lovely and warming lady whom I met in nut industrial business. Whenever/whichever she could support, she would do. It was nice to meet/know her. I would miss her. Joe Tang
