Shania Alicia Hammonds

Although I didn't know you, I prayed for you everyday
Although I didn't see you, you never seemed far away
We ask the question, "Why God?" When we don't know what to say
And we hold this anger and wish it didn't have it's way
But you, Shania, said "I love you, Jesus!" And knew it would be okay.

Shania touched many hearts and lives even if she didn't know them personally. I was one of those people. She taught me how to be strong in the midst of trouble. She taught me how to love others before myself. Although Shania is not with us, I know that she is in heaven. Painless and with a smile on her face(as always). She lives in the hearts of everyone she came in contact with. Your McKeel family loves you, Shania. We will miss you. I cannot wait to see you standing next to our Lord and Savior.

Shania, has passed, and now she has been laid to rest. Seeing her and the family today, was really hard, holding back the grief was harder. The tears just continuously slipped out, even though I made great efforts to keep them in. Shania was a beautiful young woman, she was strong in her faith, and she taught me a great deal of things about life and love and faith and hope. May she rest in peace always, and may God bless her and her family.

While I did not know Shania personally, I know that she was such a beautiful person inside and out. We all supported her immensely, and we will continue to support her cause and your family.-

i only saw her a couple times in mrs. fishburns class because im her t.A. shania is a very noce young lady i pray for her family through this hard time.

Your McKeel family will never forget how strong and courageous you were. You've touched countless lives in ways that we may never know...but your life made a difference. We will miss you.

My thoughts and prayers are with my former coworker Dartanyana and family. Please remember, God never promised us pathways strewn with flowers nor sunny days without showers but he promised to.....never leave thee nor forsake thee. Shania was an inspiration to all with her resilient spirit and beautiful smile. She's gone but I know she will never be forgotten.

I never got the chance to really get to know Shania, but she is the most influential person I have ever met. She taught me that no matter what is going on, no matter how hard life is, there is always a reason to be happy and keep faith. I do know what you are going through right now, I too lost my son at 16. I will say in time it does get easier but as you well know they are in our hearts and never to be forgotten.
