Shannan Edine Hoagland

Shannan Edine Hoagland - February 8, 1977 -- September 26, 2015

Shannan Edine Hoagland, a resident of Jefferson, Oregon died on September 26th, 2015 in Salem. She was 38 years of age.

Shannan was born on February 8, 1977 in Oregon City, Oregon and was the daughter of Edgar and Nancy Hunter. She grew up in Salem, Oregon and attended Faith Academy at Gateway Community Church, where she was a lifelong member. She later received her GED in Bend in the late 90's.

In 1996, Shannan married Brian Hoagland in Independence, Oregon and they were later divorced. Shannan worked for both Swift and KoolPac as a truck driver, traveling back and forth to L.A for 4 years. Shannan resided in Salem for most of her life as well as in Bend and Jefferson. LaPine, however, was where her heart was.

Shannan was an avid 49'rs fan and loved to travel and camp with her family and dogs. Shannan was family oriented and a strong mother, always smiling and sharing a sense of humor with her family members. Shannan enjoyed watching horror movies with her kids, hunting, listening to thunderstorms, in addition to driving semi-trucks and quads. She often expressed her sense of humor in attempting to embarrass her kids. Shannon was a devoted mother who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Shannan is survived by her two sons, Mackenzie and Matthias, and daughter Cheyenne, of Jefferson, her father "Papa" Edgar of Salem, her Brother Christopher of Salem, her dogs Kami and Moki, and her two Ferrets, Snowball and Nae Nae. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Hunter.

Donations can be made in Shannan's name to Doernbecher Children's Hospital.

A Memorial Service for Shannan will be held at Gateway Community Church in Salem, Oregon on October 10, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Arrangements under the direction of Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors, Salem, Oregon.
