Stacy Clara Bishop

Stacy Clara Bishop, 67, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Thursday, January 8, 2009, in Norman, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 12, 2009, at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.Stacy was born September 18, 1941, at home on the farm in Wanda, Minnesota, to John Mathias and Clara Yvonne (Beert) Schilling. She graduated from St. Mathias Elementary School and St. Anne's High School in Wanda. She then attended St. Mary's Nursing School and St. Catherine's College. Stacy sang in the St. Mathias Church Choir. She married Kenneth Bishop on September 18, 1965, in Wanda, Minnesota. She worked as a RN Nurse in St. Mary's Hospital and Hennepin County Hospital.Stacy moved to Norman from Minneapolis, Minnesota, in October 1989. She was active in a number of local community organizations, such as the JC's who help disadvantaged children and the Special Olympics organization. She volunteered with the Norman Red Cross and their local blood drives. Stacy also enjoyed all of the Grandma duties and beyond, including embroidery, quilt making, crochet, tatting and painting.Stacy was preceded in death by father, John; husband, Kenneth; sister, Kathryn; brother, Stephan; and many uncles and aunts.
