PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLA. -- Stanley David Weinstein, 79, resident of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., died peacefully at home Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, in the family's long-time Adirondack vacation house in Jay, N.Y.
Born Sept. 7, 1928, in New York, N.Y., son of Herman and Henrietta Weinstein; married Joan Kenyon June 29, 1952.
Studied chemistry at Columbia University and served in the Army Chemical Center in Maryland in 1951.
Joined Preservaline Manufacturing Company in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1952 selling seasonings and spices to food manufacturers in the New York metropolitan area. The company relocated to Flemington, N.J., where he became sales manager of and eventually bought the company and changed the name to Presco Food Products, Inc.
Throughout his career, he was very active in the National Seasoning Manufacturing Association and was president of that organization for a number of years and he was also a long-time member of the American Meat Institute.
Stanley and Joan lived in Bridgewater, N.J., for more than 40 years until their retirement to Palm Beach Gardens in 1994. Stanley and Joan were founding members of Temple Beth El in Somerville, N.J., and Stanley was one of the congregation's presidents during its infancy. Stanley was an avid skier and golfer, a dedicated New York Rangers hockey fan and more recently became a Florida Marlins fan and spring training season ticket holder. During the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, N.Y., Stanley served as a gate judge for the alpine skiing events at Whiteface Mountain. His participation in those Olympic games was a source of lifelong pride. In Florida, Stanley was a member of the Eastpointe Golf & Racquet Club, participated in continuing education courses at Florida Atlantic University in Jupiter and attended Elderhostel programs at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg and played bridge and attended the opera regularly.
Survived by daughters, Susan W. Albert and husband Robert Steven of Pittstown, N.J., and Kathy W. Palmer and husband Gordon of Bethlehem, Pa.; grandchildren, Martin Robert Albert and fiancée Sue Ellen Touma, Brian Matthew Albert and girlfriend Allison Carragher, Meredith Lane Palmer and Allen Douglas Palmer; daughter-in-law, Lori Weinstein and fiancé John Ackerman of Flemington, N.J.
Predeceased by wife, Joan K. Weinstein, Nov. 1, 2002; son, Steven D. Weinstein, Dec. 8, 1989.
A service will be held Thursday, Aug. 14, 11 a.m., Or Chadash Reform Temple, Flemington, N.J., officiated by Rabbi Joseph M. Forman; pallbearers include Steve, Martin and Brian Albert, Gordon and Allen Palmer and John Ackerman.
Place of interment will be Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, N.J.
The Somerville Funeral Home, 10 West End Ave., Somerville, N.J., is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Or Chadash Reform Temple, 149 Foothill Road, Flemington, NJ 08822, or to the charity of your choice.

to Stan's family- I was so sorry to hear of Stan's passing. he was such a great guy-I was his mailman while he stayed in his Jay home. I will think of him everytime I go by the house. if there is anything you need,
