Passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the Alamo Nursing Home. Stephen was born June 27, 1918 in Mentha, MI, the son of Prokop and Emma Magierka and was a lifelong resident of Gobles. Stephen honorably served his country in the US Army where he served in WWII. He was a lifetime Mason, member of the Teamsters Local # 7 of Kalamazoo, was a member of the VFW and a lifetime farmer. Stephen was also a small engine mechanic, loved fishing and helping others. He also served on the Gobles City Commission and board of review. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Marian A. (Lohrberg); two sons, Thomas (Arlene) of Otsego and Steve Jr (Pamela) of Kalamazoo; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a brother, George (Lois); two sisters, Helen (the late Gerald) Everett and Olga Meisek; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son and daughter-in-law, James (Erica); a grandson, Stephen III; a brother, Alex (Johann); two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary (Stan) Czuk and Ann (LeRoy) Smith. The family will meet friends on Monday from 6 - 8 PM at the GOBLES CHAPEL, D. L. Miller Funeral Home,

I was 3 years old when our family moved next door to Steve. We grew up up with his kids and had what I call a second set of parents. Love the whole family and my prayers go out to you all.
