Dear Mrs Wickramasinghe,
I was very sorry to hear that Sunitha had passed on. He was a charming person and always very kind and supportive to me and all who came under his mentorship. Over the past few years we had collaborated on a project close to his heart (Called CDA) and he was extremely generous in teaching us and helping us with this work. We will continue to study this using the invaluable knowledge he imparted to us.
Please accept my sympathy to you and your family.

Dear Mrs Wickramasinghe,
You probably do not know me and I do not recall if we ever met. I came as a newcomer to St Mary's from Oxford (and David Weatherall) in 1990. Sunitha was one of the first to welcome me and make me feel at home. For this and so many other things (including our love of the red blood cell) I shall remember him.
My sympathy to you and your family at this sad time.
