Susan Foster Obituary
Susan was born on October 22nd, 1949 in Bronxville, NY to the late Joyce and Lewis Bannerman. She received her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and her Masters and PhD from Syracuse University. She went on to have an accomplished career at RIT as a professor, researcher, author, and mentor, before retiring as Professor Emeritus in 2016.
Susan was an avid gardener and reader who loved helping other people. In 1984 she settled in Scottsville, NY, where she spent the next 40 years raising a family.
A loving wife and mother, Susan was preceded in death by her spouse Thomas E. Foster, III. She leaves behind her children Brenna (Jose) Foster, Colin (Banu) Foster, and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at her home in Scottsville, NY, on Sunday, May 21st, 2023, from 12pm to 3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that people make a donation to a charity of their choice in Susan's name.

I met Tom and Susan when we were all in our 20´s. My husband Jon and Tom were young friends and shared many an adventure. Knowing Susan is one of the joys of my life and we once moved in with Tom and Susan until cat allergies (mine) drove us out. Memories include visits to Maine by just Tom or both of them, walking and talking with Susan in Freeport while the guys walked and talked. Having Brenna stay with us while her parents kept tab with us on phone. I loved Susan and she is forever in my heart.
