Thomas M. Moran Born: Feb. 8, 1936; In Morris, IL Died: March 6, 2014; In Downers Grove, IL Thomas M. Moran, age 78, of Downers Grove, IL passed away peacefully on March 6, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. Born February 8, 1936 in Morris, he was the son of the late Michael and Clara Moran. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Illinois University and later earned a graduate degree. He taught in the Downers Grove junior high schools. Tom was a world traveler and was hired to teach English in many private schools around the world. He later contracted with the Department of Defense to teach English on many of the bases around the world. Tom 's life was invested in education, traveling the world, and being supportive of children around the country. Tom also embraced volunteering for many organizations. He is survived by one grandson, Justin; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie and Nancy; and one daughter-in-law, Barbara Moran. Preceded in death by his parents, one son, Thomas P. Moran on October 11, 2012; grandson, Damien James, one brother Delox and one sister, Delores Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the U.C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home, located at 301 W. Washington Street in Morris. A Celebration of Tom 's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Father Edward J. Howe, CR officiating. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted with U.C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home, 301 W. Washington Street, Morris, Illinois.
