SMOTHERS Thomas (Uncle Bosie) Henry Smothers, Sr. entered into rest on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 6:00 a.m. in Baton Rouge, LA. Widower of Mary Perkins Smothers. Father of Min. Gary Smothers and Renee Smothers both of Baker, LA, Beatrice (Ervin) Hay-wood, Alicia Smothers, the late Henry Robinson, Floyd and Thomas H. Smothers, Jr. Adopted father of Joanne Lewis and Barbara Berryhill. Son of the late Mary Jane and Charles Smothers, Sr. Brother of Ann Jennings, Daisy Rowan, Mary Pearl Ridley, the late James L. Davis, Eddie, Charles, Jr., Robert, Samuel L. and Virginia Smothers, Rose Lee Jones and Eleanor Cains. Also survived by a devoted niece, Vivian Davis, 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A native of Weyanoke, LA and former resident of New Orleans, LA prior to Hurricane Katrina. Age 97 years. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of St. John Baptist Church of Baton Rouge, LA, James Chapel, First Mount Calvary and First Agape Baptist Churches; employees of Orleans Parish School Board and Louisiana Superdome Management Group are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. from St. John Baptist Church, 820 New Rafe Meyer Road, Baton Rouge, LA.
