For the past year, I, too, have thought about Tim nearly daily, and what his friendship meant to me, even though only re-kindled after many decades. Again, the message is that one must never put off an opportunity to reach out to friends, never underestimate the importance of every day we have a chance to extend a kindness, or offer a healing.

Tim and I grew up together, went to Walnut Hill for grade school...the whole thing. Years passed, we both became physicians. We both rose to positions of authority, more importantly, to the trust of those we serve. It was about a year ago, we began to correspond. We hoped to see eachother at the TJ '64 reunion next month. Never, never put off re-kindling old friendships. For his family, for his patients, for all of us who grew up together, searched for crawdads at Willow Creek, dared each other to swing out on the branches... he will truly be missed. God bless.

Dr. Drake is the only doctor I have ever loved. I love Bobbie & Rhonda also. I never felt like just "a patient", there was always warmth and humor, and I do not think the care he gave can be surpassed. Each time I went to the office, I felt like I was going to visit with family. I never minded waiting because I knew if I needed extra time he would take that time with me also. My heart, love, & prayers go out to Bobbie & family, Rhonda, and anyone else that was blessed by having this wonderful man in their life. I have shed tears every day since opening that letter last Monday. Blessed are we to have known and love this very special man.

Just hearing the news today and still in a state of shock. I have to say that Dr. Drake was an amazing person that I am so thankful to have met. I am deeply saddened by Tim's passing. All the kind words others said about him as well as his wit, humor and unsurpassed dedication to his patients is beyond words. He took care of me, Gary and our children for many years. I remember spending literally hours in the office with Michael while Tim tried to desperately diagnose the problem! My wife and I picked Dr. Drake for our family doctor, by chance, out of an insurance book when we first came to Plano, where we knew no one. Little did we know at that time how fortunate had been our choice for we could never have found a more professional and compassionate physician. Dr. Drake and his practice's staff in Plano became very dear to us throughout the many years they have devotedly cared for our health. It is hard to believe such a special person has been snatched so young and brusquely from our midst. We will pray for his soul. Our thoughts and prayers also go out to his family and collaborators.

Dr. Drake was the first doctor we had since coming to the US. I remember the way we chose him: we were looking at the doctors in our plan, and when we saw his picture, it captivated us, and we thought 'this doctor must be good'. We were wrong, he was not good, he was phenomenal! We are soooo sorry to hear about his passing. We were just writing a postcard to the two of you from Pensacola. I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Drake at The Medical Center of Plano specifically related to continuing medical education (CME). I have been in that particular field for 13 years now and I have never met a physician who was so dedicated to the purpose of CME and who completely delved into learn all the rules associated with it. He was a constant advocate for his fellow physicians and for our CME team here at the hospital. I will miss hearing his stories, listening to his expansive vocabulary, and his self-deprecating jokes that always came in quick response to a situation. He was a great man who will be missed by many. My condolences to his family.

Dr. Drake became our family doctor when we moved to Texas in 1997. We could not have asked for a more thorough physician. His warm compassion has always put me at ease, no matter the illness. I have know, trusted, and loved my friend Tim for nearly 20years. He has been my trusted Doctor, my wife's Doctor and my daughter's Doctor throughout most of those years. He was a gentle and kind man whose smile and laugh I will remember for years to come. Dr. Drake was the best doctor I have ever known. I trusted him unequivocally and respected him completely. He was a kind soul, fun person, and endearing friend. I'm sure many, besides me, are feeling the pain and sorrow of losing him. I was shocked and deeply sorry to hear of Dr. Tim's passing. He and I have birthdays not that far apart. He spent much time with me in his office and close to me several times in a hospital bed. More than once did he save my life and later tell me a joke about it! I am certain he is pleased to have kept me alive, to have passed before me and is preparing a joke now about me getting there late. I know I am not alone when I say just how much he has contributed to me and how truly he will be missed. Bobby, I can only offer my deepest sorrows to you and your family. Tim changed my life in so many ways. We were friends with he and Bobbie, as well as patients. He brought so much wisdom to his practice, and an intuitive knowing on how to not only treat my illness, but how to treat me as a person.
