Walter Hannemann

Cocoa Beach - 82, passed away on January 18, 2018 in Cocoa Beach, Florida. He was born on November 14, 1935 in New York, New York to Valentine and Frieda Hannemann.

Walter and Beyanaad Gongnuu were married in Thailand on December 25, 1975. He is survived by Beyanaad and two children Kris-Sana Hannemann and Jean Williams, two granddaughters and one great granddaughter, brother Otto Hannemann and sister-in-law Tonia Hannemann, and special friend Patrick Connelly. Walter was predeceased by his daughter Darasane Kastien Hannemann.

Walter had a distinguished 30-year career in the United States Army until his military retirement on March 31, 1984. He then served 10 more years with the U.S. Army as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Army Material Command Center Europe until his final retirement in 1995. Walter and Beyanaad resided in Cocoa Beach since 1995.

A Wake and Reception for Walter will take place on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Veterans Memorial Center at 400 South Sykes Parkway, Merritt Island, Florida, from 2:00-5:00 PM.

I met Walter and his family when I was stationed in Worms, Germany in the mid 80s My wife Phan was close friends with his wife. Walter was a very good man. Back then he spent so much time teaching his young kids always reading to them and spending quality time. The best father a child could have. I will never forget him.
