My deepest condolences to Msgr. Murray's family. In the early 1960s, I was an altar boy at Immaculate Conception Parish in Cranston, RI. I served Mass for Monsignor Murray at 7AM. He would come bounding into the sacristy at 6:55AM sharp with his beautiful Great Dane Duke. He would be vested and on the altar at 7AM. Monsignor Murray was ALWAYS my idea of the ideal priest. I was always proud to sit next to him on the altar.
May you rest in peace Monsignor Murray and may light perpetual shine upon you.

Faithfully, your old altar boy,
Rev. John E. Higginbotham, Tiverton, Rhbode Island

My sympathy to Msgr. Murray's family. I accompanied him and Frs. Besse and Kehew to Israel and Greece in 1984 and was in a Priest Support Group with him for many years. I visited him in Vermont and Cape Cod and he was a source of inspiration in my priesthood.
