TRUAX, William (Bill) David
Born April 18, 1941 in Sherbrooke, Quebec, died February 10, 2012 in Victoria, BC. As a young man he worked for GM in Montreal and later lived in Calgary for many years where he worked for Gulf Oil. In Victoria he worked for the Provincial Government. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hiking and hunting and was on the Ski Patrol in the Rockies. He also took a great interest in photography and traveling in North America in a motor home, which gave him the opportunity to take great photographs. His passion in life was fly fishing and he made his own flies. He fished the Bow River in Alberta and many lakes in BC's interior. His largest rainbow trout was 16.6 ounces. He leaves his wife, June and sister Sandra (Don) Johnston in Richmond, Quebec and is lovingly remembered by extended family. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1803 Quadra Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Society.
