On April 8, 2012, our much-loved husband, father and grandfather, William Yang, passed away peacefully with his devoted wife and his loving family by his side. Born on March 26, 1931, Bill grew up in the Philippines, went to school at the University of Michigan, where he met his wife of 54 years, and raised ten remarkable children. His family and friends were foremost in his life, and his faith in God guided him through a full and wonderful life. After being diagnosed with liver cancer in 1993, Bill was able to treat and manage this terrible disease and see the birth of all twenty- two grandchildren. Bill also took it upon himself to help those dealing with cancer through prayer and support networks. He is survived by his loving wife, Hyacinth; ten children Wendy (Cornel), Hermine (Patrick), Herbert (Clara), Sue Ann (Davidicus), Winnie (Stephen), Wayne (Teresa), Wilbert (Carol), Harold (Mei), Heidi (Colin) and Hansel (Joanna); and twenty-two grandchildren Wendel, David, Charmaine, Marisa, Ryan, Kristen, Kathleen, Adam, Geordie, Jennifer, Eric, Sarah, Matthew, Nicole, Miranda, Isabelle, Kurtis, Helen, Chelsea, Alexandria, Anthony and Nathaniel. Our family wishes to thank the caregivers of the BC Cancer Agency, Burnaby Health Unit and Crossroads Hospice Society for their exceptional care. Prayer service and viewing will be held on Wednesday evening, April 11, 2012 at 7:00 pm at Holy Cross Parish in Burnaby, BC. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Holy Cross Parish at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Cancer Foundation and Crossroads Hospice Society would be appreciated.
