Dear Auntie and Takasaki family;

I was glad that my mom could attend and sorry that my family and I could not. I remember when I was small visiting BC, and digging clams and seeing the fishing boats. When my daughters and wife visited several years ago they loved meeting their distant relatives, well represented by all the Takasaki. But the best memories they will have of Uncle Tom was the August reunions and the golfing and parties with horse races. We hope all is well. We share in your grieving, but rejoice in Tom's long and happy life.

As I reflect on my life with Tom, I know that as a young person, I was mostly involved with me...but what I do recall clearly was how kind and generous Tom and Soni were to Sam. Sam truly enjoyed his regular visits to Steveston, with us in tow.
Later on in life and more mature, I discovered what a scamp Tom really was. Michelle and I would seek him out at events, hovering near him, like little kids, to see what he might be up to next. Kind, generous and caring, That is how I will remember Tom.

Hi Auntie Soni

I'm so sorry I was unable to attend the memorial service. I was in Calgary on a government training course. I would much rather have been able to spend time with you and the family. I will miss Uncle Tom. He was always the most "smiley" person I've ever known and you couldn't help smiling right along with him. Much love to you and the family.

Dear Aunt Soni and family;
I was very sad to hear that Uncle Tom had passed away - he was such a cheerful and vibrant person. Whatever happened he was always smiling - I'll miss that bright, youthful energy. It won't be the same when I come to visit Richmond.

Now he is up there hanging around a fishing hole with Dad and having a good time. And we are down here with lots of fond memories of them golfing and fishing.

Love Priscilla, Tamiko and Andrea

Dear Auntie Sony,
I would like to share with you my earliest and memorable time that I spent with Uncle Tom.I think it was when I was quite young and had come out to the coast in around 1973. He was going fishing and I asked him if I could go. He said sure so off we went. We made it to where he had planned on fishing. From then all I can remember is that it was late at night and I was tired. So I went down into the boat and laid on the berth below and fell a sleep. Next thing I knew we were heading home. Some fisherman I was.
I always enjoyed talking with Uncle Tom and will miss him.
Love David

Dear Nisan,
I will truly mss you and I will never ever forget you. I will love
you always.
You lived life "your way" and did not dance to anyone's tunes. Young or old, single or married, rich or poor, you taught us how its done.
You will always be in my heart,
